The B.C. Softwood Lumber
Advisory Committee provides advice and
recommendations to the federal Minister
for International Trade on quota issues
under the Canada/U.S. Softwood Lumber
Agreement. The Committee has
representatives from the primary,
remanufacturing and wholesale sectors of
the B.C. forest industry, and from the
provincial government.

Average Monthly Values (AMVs) are arrived
at by analysis of log sales through the
collection of log sale invoices from the
coastal logging industry. This
information is an integral factor in the
calculations used to establish export
fees in lieu of manufacture in the
Province. This information is historical.
It is compiled in Revenue Branch and
distributed by Economics and Trade
Branch.
