Kathy Hopkins posted the files in this drive on FPC Transition (2003), FRPA (2005), Streamlining the Code (1998) (including the “Web” directory containing answers to questions), Highlights of changes to the Forest Practices Code (1999-2001), and Master Logger Program (2001). The purpose of these files is to provide information on the regulatory regimes governing forest practices in BC. Most of these files populate websites that are currently in use. The ‘official reports’ folder contains the official reports on Royal Commissions including those by Fulton Pearce, Peel and Sloan. In addition, some range training folders from 1995, 96, 97, and 98 would be the responsibility of Jim Kirby. Kathy’s files should be reassessed as follows: FPC Transition (2003) gives plain language information about provisions that apply to forest licensees operating under the Forest Practices Code. While no new plans under the Code are being developed, licensees may still operate under approved plans for some years to come, in some cases until the new plantations are free-growing (15 to 20 years post harvest). Review the status of this situation and the utility of the files after the official transition period is over (currently scheduled for Jan 1 2007) FRPA (2005): retain until FRPA is replaced by a different forest practices regulatory regime. Streamlining the Code (1998) (including the “Web” directory containing answers to questions): review January 2007. Highlights of changes to the Forest Practices Code (1999-2001): Review in January 2007 Master Logger program (2001).
