The Informed 2.7 Addendum will also provide essential information to help you begin using Informed Filler 2.7.1. Table of Contents ================= What's New in Version 2.7 System Requirements Installing Informed Filler Documentation Issues Contacting Shana What's New in Version 2.7 ========================= The following new features are included with version 2.7 of Informed: * Support for FileNET Integrated Workflo (i.e. Ensemble) * Support of CryptoAPI for digital signatures * Performance improvement of navigation of FTP distribution centers * Added ability to display a message with scrollable text to JavaScript support * Bug fixes For a complete list of changes in version 2.7 and 2.7.1, please refer to the "2.7 Release Notes" and the "2.7.1 Release Notes" located in the "Release Notes" folder in the "Informed Filler" folder. For instructions on the new features, please refer to the "Informed 2.7 Addendum" located in the "Manuals" folder in the "Informed Filler" folder of the Informed CD. System Requirements =================== Windows 3.1x (16-bit) * 386 or better * Hard drive with at least 9MB of free disk space * Windows 3.1 or later including 3.11 Windows 95, Windows NT and Windows 98 (32-bit) * 486 or better * Hard drive with at least 9MB of free disk space * Windows 95 / Windows NT 3.51 or later / Windows 98 Installing Informed Filler ========================== Installation of Informed Filler is done with an easy to use installer application. As you run the installer, you can specify a number of installation options such as the location of your "Informed" folder and which items are to be installed. After installation, you can quit the installer application, or continue installing additional items. For detailed installation instructions, system requirements, and other useful information to help get you started, see your Informed Filler Getting Started Guide. Documentation ============= 2.7 Addendum ------------ The new features of version 2.7 are documented in the Informed 2.7 Addendum. This addendum is available on the Informed CD in the Manuals folder of Informed Designer and Informed Filler. It is also posted to the Shana FTP site at: ftp://ftp.shana.com/pub/software/docs/ On-line Documentation --------------------- The Informed CD contains PDF versions of the entire Informed Filler manual set. The Informed Filler manuals are located in a folder named "Manuals" inside the "Informed Filler" folder. Acrobat Reader (included) is required to view the on-line documentation. Acrobat Reader is located in a folder named "Acrobat Reader" inside the "Extras" folder on the CD. On-line Plug-ins Documentation ------------------------------ Many of Informed's features are made available through the use of Informed plug-ins. An Informed plug-in is a file that contains code that interacts directly with an external service such as an e-mail system. Because Shana is continually responding to customer needs by developing and adding new plug-ins, we've found that using on-line documentation is the most efficient way to document these features. Documentation for the following plug-ins is available only in Informed Designer's on-line help system: * data access plug-ins such as Oracle, Sybase, and HTTP * signing service plug-ins such as Entrust, I-Sign(IMAP), and I-Sign(POP) * mail plug-ins including SMTP and Microsoft Exchange * distribution plug-ins such as File Server and FTP * scripting extension plug-ins * miscellaneous plug-ins For documentation about these plug-ins and their associated features, please see the "About Plug-ins" topic in Informed Designer's on-line help system. Issues ====== 16-bit vs 32-bit Functionality (Windows only) --------------------------------------------- A number of Windows features and capabilities are available only in the 32-bit version of Informed Designer and Informed Filler. These include: FileNET integration, Docs Open integration, FormFlow Conversion, JavaScript Debugging, Extended MAPI mail support, Save As TIFF, Save As PDF, ODMA integration and saving templates for Informed Filler for Java. Backward Compatibility ---------------------- Informed 2.7.1 template and data documents are backward compatible with previous versions of Informed, up to and including, version 2.5. Installation ------------ * The "Distribution Centers" folder is now automatically created regardless of whether or not a Distribution Center Profile is being installed or not.
