Fixed an error that occurred when running and printing from scripts. 2. Fixed a problem with installation of the Barcode plug-in. 3. Fixed a problem with Panagon plug-ins not loading on Windows 95/NT 4.0. 4. Fixed a problem with non-refreshing icons. System Requirements ==================== Minimum: Windows * 486 or greater * Hard drive with at least 9MB of free disk space * Windows 95 OSR2, Windows 98,Windows 2000, Windows NT 4 SP 3 or later Recommended: Windows * Pentium 200 or greater * Latest version and service pack of specific OS (e.g. Windows 95 OSR2, Windows 98SE) Installing Informed Filler =========================== Installation of Informed Filler is done with an easy-to-use installer application. As you run the installer, you can specify a number of installation options such as the location of your "Informed" folder and which items are to be installed. After installation, you can quit the installer application, or continue installing additional items. Please note: if you are running Windows Millennium Edition, you cannot install Informed into your "Program Files" folder. Windows ME does not provide write access to the Program Files folder. Write access is required to run Informed successfully. To uninstall Informed Filler, use the Add/Remove Programs application in the Windows control panel. Documentation ============== On-line Documentation ---------------------------------------------- The Informed CD contains PDF versions of the entire Informed Filler manual set. The Informed Filler manuals are located in a folder named "Manuals" inside the "Informed Filler" folder. Acrobat Reader (included) is required to view the on-line documentation. Acrobat Reader is located in a folder named "Acrobat Reader" inside the "Extras" folder on the Informed CD. On-line Plug-ins Documentation ---------------------------------------------- Many of Informed's features are made available through the use of Informed plug-ins. An Informed plug-in is a file that contains code that interacts directly with an external service or extends the functionality of an Informed feature. Because Shana is continually responding to customer needs by developing and adding new plug-ins, we've found that describing these components in the manuals and Help files is the most efficient way to provide information about many of these features. Issues ======= Upgrading from Previous Versions ---------------------------------------------- Upgrading from a previous version of Informed is a seamless process provided you install in the same location as your previous installation. New registration keys, purchased with your upgrade, are required to unlock the software. MIME Settings for Netscape ---------------------------------------------- If you are installing Informed 3.0 or later onto a computer in a different location from where Informed version 2.7.1 was installed, you should note the following: * In order for Netscape to run without using the 2.7.1 executables, delete the following entries from the Netscape Registry Key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\Suffixes] application/vnd.shana.informed.formtemplate application/vnd.shana.informed.formtemplateref application/vnd.shana.informed.formdata application/vnd.shana.informed.package application/vnd.shana.informed.interchange and delete the following entries from the Netscape Registry Key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\Viewers] application/vnd.shana.informed.formtemplate application/vnd.shana.informed.formtemplateref application/vnd.shana.informed.formdata application/vnd.shana.informed.package application/vnd.shana.informed.interchange Also delete all corresponding keys with the format TYPExx (i.e. TYPE32 = application/vnd.shana.informed.package) where the Viewer data values match the Suffix names listed above. As a result, Netscape will use the default MIME types in HKEY_ROOT and the appropriate executables will be invoked. Backward Compatibility ----------------------------------------------- Informed 3.5.3 template and data documents are backward compatible with previous versions of Informed, down to and including version 2.5. Panagon Plug-in ----------------------------------------------- The FileNET plug-in that supported version 2.x of the Panagon IDM Desktop has been updated for Informed 3.x compatibility and renamed "Panagon2". A new plug-in called "Panagon3" has been created for version 3.x of the Panagon IDM Desktop. It is important to note that the FileNET plug-in cannot coexist with the Panagon2/Panagon3 plug-ins in the Informed Plug-ins folder. If you are using the Shana-provided installer, the upgrade of these plug-ins is done automatically.
