description Grids of Cumulative mortality of pine from 2015 to 2026 as a proporion of total forest volume. Based output from the BCMPB projection model (version 12) with no forest harvesting (i.e. beetle damage only) and percent pine grid as developed for the BCMPB projection model.

projection BC Albers Equal Area. Please see the following Web page for parameters, www.ilmb.gov.bc.ca/risc/pubs/other/mappro/map.htm.
warnings Data for areas within Tree Farm Licences is based on old, poor quality forest cover
Please consult the "Infestation Projection" report in the Current Results section of www.for.gov.bc.ca/hre/bcmpb, to obtain further information regarding the current infestation projection.
We are reasonably confident in the model's observed and projected infestation estimates at the PROVINCIAL and DISTRICT SCALES, but the specific progression of the outbreak at finer scales, such as a "watershed" or a "pixel", is most likely wrong because theses finer scales exceed the resolution of the model.
The projection provided is one instance of the output from a stochastic model. It is a projection of what might happen rather than a prediction of what will happen. Please use and interpret the data accordingly.
