After 27 years with the Forest Service, Karl Wagner will be retiring on May 2, 2001.

He began his career with the Forest Service in 1974 as a Forest Assistant in Mackenzie, then transferred to Fort St. John in 1976 and to Fort St. James District in 1980.

He worked in the Leo Creek operating area, where he was responsible for protection, recreation, range, scaling, engineering, silviculture, and timber management.

Then in 1995, Karl took on the job of Field Operations Supervisor, overseeing major licensee operations. At retirement, Karl has rounded off his career in the capacity of Zone Supervisor where he contributed to the success of Forest Renewal BC, recreation and backlog silviculture programs.
