Generally:
Channel widening is evident (bank erosion). Pools are less pronounced, making up one-half to one-third of the channel length. Pool depth is reduced; deep pools (>0.5 m) typically associated with LWD. Side channel bars are larger (due to a wider channel), and bars begin to form in the middle of the channel. |
