Generally:
Boulders and cobbles continue to interlock, forming step-pool morphology. Intervening pools are less extensive due to sediment accumulation. Sediment accumulation also occurs around LWD. Sediment covered by moss in isolated locations (e.g., in lee of bedrock outcrops, large boulders, or root wads). |
