Generally:
Boulders continue to interlock forming step-pool morphology. Intervening pools are less extensive (one-half to two-thirds of total length) due to sediment accumulation between steps. Sediment is covered by moss in isolated locations (e.g., in lee of bedrock outcrops, large boulders, and root wads). LWD is present but is not an important structural element. |
