What do you think?

Deputy Minister Lee Doney would like to get a discussion going with ministry employees on policy issues.

Our electronic forum offers you the opportunity to read about the policy under discussion, respond to others’ comments and offer your personal and/or professional opinion.

Only two simple guidelines: Anonymous input has little value and so, will be removed. Secondly, people are assumed to be posting comments on their own behalf, not expressing the position of their office, department or branch.

For starters, the deputy would like to hear your thoughts on the idea of the forests ministry allocating tenures for specified areas of land for resources other than trees. These could include such things as mushrooms, floral greenery, berries and medicinal plants as well as various kinds of tourism and other activities.

The discussion site is located at wwwinternal.for.gov.bc.ca/iscripts/pab/ForDisc/topic_list.asp

Tip:
You can easily create a one-click shortcut on your desktop to the discussion site.

Here’s how.

  1. Is the web page you’re looking at now filling your entire screen?
  2. If so, look at the top-right hand corner and click on the middle of the three buttons there (the one showing two pages overlapping).

This will decrease the size of this page.

  3. Put your cursor on the discussion-page link, above, (not the URL).
  4. Push and hold down your left mouse button, and drag it to an empty place on your desktop.

  5. This works for any link on any website!
