Nurturing Knowledge of the Trees

Wild BC produces educational materials and holds workshops to train the users of those materials for MOF and several other B.C. ministries.

The 14-year-old organization, formerly called Project Wild, is supported by MOF, MELP and the Habitat Conservation Trust Fund, which in turn gets a large part of its money from fees for hunting, trapping and fishing in B.C.

Government originally created Project Wild in 1986 as the most efficient and cost-effective way to reach the educational community. Now, Wild BC sells its publications and other resources, thus recovering most of its production costs.

Wild BC looks after a range of educational materials for MOF including:

  • Backyard Biodiversity
  • Protected Areas: Preserving our Future
  • the Tree Book
  • the Tree CD
  • Tree Tales
  • Wildlife trees in B.C.
