National Forest Week 2001

It’s time to start planning for National Forest Week, May 6th to 12th. This year’s theme is Canada’s Forests: A Breath of Fresh Air. National Forest Week is a time to promote awareness about forests and forestry and a time to cement relationships with the communities in which the Forest Service operates.

In the past, activities have ranged from classroom lectures and nature walks to pancake breakfasts and logger sports. Whatever the activity in your region or district, please capture it on film and send your best photos to FS News by May 31st.

This is your forest service community newsletter

Please share your news, events, triumphs, adventures, challenges, ideas, photos, cartoons, helpful hints, trivia—anything you think might interest the rest of us in the B.C. Forest Service.

Would you like to have a Classified Ads section in the FS News? We’re considering the idea. Please send us your thoughts on it.

The FS News is published four times a year, in January, April, July and October.

The deadline for written copy and photos is the first day of the preceding month.

If you have a story to tell but don’t want to write it, we’ll do it, from your information.
