  Funspiel coming in November
By Roger Painter

There have been, and are going to be, many changes in our world so it is good time to get together and enjoy the truly important things in life—family, friends and fun.

If you agree, you might like to come to the 2001 Ministry of Forests (Victoria) curling Funspiel to be held Saturday, November 24 at Esquimalt’s Archie Browning Sports Centre, 1151 Esquimalt Rd.

Please enter your teams as soon as you can. We invite any of our fellow curlers who have moved over to the two new Ministries (WLAP and MSRM) and include anyone else from those new ministries as well.

This is partly because our team is tired of winning all the time and we want some real competition for a change. We admit that this is a sad commentary on the state of our ministry when we have to look outside for competition.

If you know of anyone you would like to include or who might be interested please tell them about the tournament. Family and friends are all welcome as team members.

For those of you who are preparing for the Briar or the Silver Broom, this is a "must tournament" to hone your skills against our formidable team prior to moving on to the BIG ONE.

And if you are not that serious about curling, you will find that this is an excellent opportunity to find out why people rave about it: It’s the socializing. Curling is a lot of fun.

We have room for 24 teams, so get your application in a.s.a.p. The cost is $22 a person, which includes the curling and the dinner. Cost for dinner-only guests is $12.

We decided to raise the price by $2 this year to get some really good food.

Entries are due by November 14.
